staff (Hydraulic fixture/tooling designer), Applications Engineering
department duration, 9/2004 – 6/2005. I went to Makino shortly after serving
sixteen years for PDSI, (see resume) on contract to Delphi Automotive Systems
at the Kettering, Ohio facility as a senior staff Mechanical Designer in the
Process Engineering department, (projects included automated assembly
equipment/tooling and fixtures), duration, 6/1986 – 9/2003. Prior
to joining Delphi Automotive, I served as Project Manager and Sr.
Mechanical Designer for Kohol System Inc. (Robotic Systems House) in
Centerville, Ohio duration, 3/1981-5/1986. I have

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
(Greater Detail) Project Lead included:
Account management, design
project management, build quotation, purchasing/outside vendor assistance,
and supplier coordination. Design projects included:
(High tolerance - parts feeding, orientation, work holding, fabrication,
assembly and inspection stations) for automated production assembly lines and
stand-alone equipment, special machines, fixtures and
gages. Robotic Systems design
projects included: Automated assembly, fabrication, welding, machine
tool load, wet process, paint line, inspection, and palletizing systems.
Design duties included: Plant layout, the design and layout of robotic
peripherals, material handling equipment (included conveyorization), work
cell safety enclosures, as well as specialized, part fixturing, end of arm
tooling and robot protective enclosures/booting. Design components included:
Specification and use of industry standard building materials, such as
metals, plastics, rubber, and hardware. Exotic materials included ceramics,
dielectrics, weld-spatter resistant and electrostatic coatings. Electronic
devices included welding equipment, motors, switches, (inductive proximity, ultrasonic,
fiber optics and photo electric sensors), lasermic and vision systems.
Mechanical devices included pneumatic, hydraulic and electro-mechanical
actuators, drives, transmission and motion control equipment. Tooling projects included:
Complete retooling of automated production assembly lines, R & D tooling
proto typing, countless work holding /jig and fixtures, robotic end
effectors, plastic injection molding and aluminum die cast tooling,
resistance weld electrodes, specialized hand tooling, dies, (SPC) gages,
Cordax tool inspection and the development of specialized materials,
coatings, and tooling techniques for welding/fabrication equipment. Manufacturing/Production
assistance projects included: Kaizen continuous improvement
teams to provide engineering solutions, feasibility studies and
implementation techniques for performance, lean manufacturing, SPC, ISO9000,
quality assurance, ergonomic, safety and preventive maintenance issues.
Daily (hands-on shop floor
involvement) included: Manufacturing engineering and
production management support. Utilization of Cad technologies and GD&T
product standards in the development of conceptual and complex formal
engineering documentation, design layouts, detailing and BOM. Skilled trades
